Referee Clinics
Dates and Times for 2013 Referee Clinics have been released!
- All of your 2013 USSF certification steps will be done through the state site, www.minnesotasrc.com.
- If you are a returning referee for 2013, your registration steps will depend on your USSF grade:
- Grade 8- Log in and register at www.minnesotasrc.com and pay your registration fees. You then have to take your recertification test and pass it. Passing score is 75%, but if you score 75-84, you will have to complete a question review before proceeding. Once you have passed the test, you then proceed to the "Online Material" where you must complete a minimum of 2.0 credit hours of online course material. You may complete up to 5.0 hours of material in all. You must complete 5.0 total hours of continuing education (either online, using a classroom session, or some combination of the two). Upon completion of your 5.0 hours, your 2013 Law Book and badge will be mailed to you by the SRA.
- Grade 7, Grade 6, and Emeritus- Log in and register at www.minnesotasrc.com and pay your registration fees. You then have to take your recertification test and pass it. Grade 7 takes the Regular Recertification test but has a passing score of 85%, with an "avoid Review" score of 95%. Grade 6 takes the State Test with a passing score of 75% (there is no review for the state test). Once you have passed the test, you then proceed to the "Online Material" where you must complete a minimum of 2.0 credit hours of online course material. Upon completing the course material, you will be eligible to sign up to attend a recertification class. You must attend 3.0 hours of classroom to complete your requirements for 2013. Upon completion, your 2013 Law Book and badge will be mailed to you.

- If you are a new referee that has never registered with USSF, you will need to start by creating an account at www.minnesotasrc.com. Having completed this, you should pay your registration fees, then proceed to the "Online Material." Select the Grade 8 Track (not the Grade 9 track... we are not offering the Grade 9 course in Duluth this year). Complete the seven-module Grade 8 course, after which you can sign up for one of the Grade 8 courses listed below.
- If you are not interested in working USSF games but are interested in helping with AYSA's fall lower recreational division, you do not need to be USSF-trained and certified. Please contact the AYSA assignor for information on training for the fall recreational-level games.
Required Preseason Meeting, Thursday, April 25, 2013, Lake Superior College, 6:30 to 8:30 PM
This is a REQUIRED meeting for all of those interested in refereeing youth soccer matches in the Duluth area over the upcoming spring/summer season. We will be discussing use of the website, expectations, and also covering topical material on managing coaches and spectators. This class will count for one hour of CE towards your USSF re-certification.
Sunday, April 21, 2013, Essentia Health-St. Mary's Clinic, 8 AM to 4:30 PM
This is an entry-level clinic for people who wish to become US Soccer-certified referees and work matches for MYSA or in AYSA's summer Upper Division. There are seven online modules that have to be completed before being able to register for this clinic. For full instructions, please go to www.minnesotasrc.com for full instructions.
The deadline for completing any pre-class work for this course will be midnight, Thursday, April 18. After this time, registration for the course will close.
Please note that if you refereed in AYSA's fall Lower Division after taking a course last summer, you are NOT certified to work summer games. You must attend a US Soccer Grade 8 course to become eligible to work during the summer.
